5. Who we share your data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the following categories of recipient, each bound by a written contract meeting UK GDPR Article 28:
- Our team members and vetted subcontractors assigned to deliver your job — receive only the data they need (name, address, contact number, job details).
- Netlify, Inc. — website and form hosting (USA; data transferred under the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework).
- Google LLC / Google Ireland Ltd — Analytics & Tag Manager (USA/EEA; same safeguards as above).
- Stripe Payments UK Ltd — payment processing.
- Our accountants and insurers — for bookkeeping, tax returns, and insurance claims.
- HMRC, the police, courts, or other UK authorities — where we are legally required to disclose.
- A successor business — if Hausio is sold or merged, in which case your data passes to the new owner under this same policy.
6. International transfers
Where data leaves the UK (mainly to our US-based hosting and analytics providers), we rely on the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses issued by the ICO, combined with participation in the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (UK Extension) where offered by the provider. A copy of the safeguards is available on request.
7. How long we keep your data
- Booking and invoicing records: 6 years after the tax year in which the job took place (HMRC / Companies Act requirement).
- Complaints and insurance files: 6 years after closure (Limitation Act 1980).
- Unsuccessful quote requests (no booking made): 12 months.
- Marketing contacts: until you unsubscribe, then a suppression record is kept indefinitely to honour your opt-out.
- Website analytics: 14 months (GA4 default).
- CCTV / call recordings: we do not routinely operate either; any recording is disclosed before it starts.
8. Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the following rights, free of charge, subject to certain legal conditions:
- Access — a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Rectification — correction of inaccurate data.
- Erasure ("right to be forgotten") — deletion where the data is no longer needed, subject to our retention obligations above.
- Restriction of processing while a dispute is resolved.
- Data portability — a machine-readable export of data you provided under consent or contract.
- Objection — to processing we carry out on the basis of legitimate interests, including direct marketing (an absolute right).
- Withdraw consent at any time — without affecting processing that happened before.
- Not be subject to solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. We do not carry out such decision-making.
To exercise any of these rights, email hausio.co.uk@proton.me. We will respond within one calendar month. If you are unhappy with our response, you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF — 0303 123 1113.
9. How we keep your data secure
We use HTTPS/TLS across the site, role-based access for our team, two-factor authentication on administrative accounts, encrypted storage with our processors, and a documented breach-response procedure. In the event of a personal data breach likely to cause a risk to your rights, we will notify the ICO within 72 hours and you without undue delay, as required by UK GDPR Articles 33–34.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted on this page and, where appropriate, notified to you by email. The "Effective date" above always shows when the latest version took effect.
Terms of Service (summary)
These terms apply to every Hausio booking alongside the full terms you accept at checkout. Nothing in this summary limits your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
- Quotes. Online prices are estimates based on the information you provide. Final price is confirmed on-site before work begins; if scope changes materially we will pause and re-quote before continuing.
- Minimum booking. Cleaning and removals — 2 hours. Handyman — 1 hour. Additional time is billed in 15-minute increments.
- Payment. No deposit at booking. We confirm your slot at £0 and bill the card you provide securely (via Stripe) after the job is complete and you're satisfied with the work. Apple Pay, Google Pay or any major card supported. We may save the card on file at booking solely to enable post-job billing — no charge is taken in advance.
- Cancellations. Free cancellation or rescheduling until 12:00 noon the day before your booking. Same-day cancellations carry a £15 admin fee billed to the card on file. Cancellations after our team has arrived carry the full job fee.
- Congestion Zone. Bookings inside the Central London Congestion Zone (EC, WC, W1, SW1, SE1) add a flat £18 access surcharge.
- Balance payment. The remaining balance is paid by card after the job is completed. Invoices are payable within 7 days. Late payments may accrue statutory interest under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
- Access and safety. You are responsible for providing safe access to the property and removing valuables, pets, and children from the work area. We reserve the right to decline or suspend work in unsafe conditions.
- Insurance. We hold £2,000,000 public liability insurance covering damage caused by our negligence. Report any issue within 48 hours of the job. Pre-existing damage, wear and tear, and items of exceptional value not disclosed in advance are excluded.
- Complaints. If you are unhappy, email hausio.co.uk@proton.me within 48 hours. We will respond within 2 working days and aim to re-do or rectify the work where reasonable.
- Consumer right to cancel. Because our services are performed at a date and time agreed with you, the statutory 14-day cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply once the service has started at your request. Before the service starts you may cancel under the rules in clause 3.
- Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

We recommend a final review by a UK-qualified solicitor before relying on it in any dispute, particularly once Hausio Ltd is registered at Companies House so the registered office and company number can be inserted in sections 1 and 10.
